What was the highlight of Royal & Imperial Belvedere Resort
Good for families with kids.
Lots of activities for kids and staff were helpful in finding transfers and information about attractions in the area, the labyrinth was particularly good, good choice of food around the clock and plenty of pools, with beach only 10 minute walk, although quite small.
People would leave towels on loungers overnight which was not ideal in finding one the next day. Some loungers were a bit knackered. In house free wine not great.

Lovely stay in Crete
The food was excellent in the all inclusive option. So much choice and very tasty. The room was really nice and perfect for a family of 4 with a beautiful sea view.
The location was a bit outside so we needed to get a taxi everywhere.

What was the highlight of Royal & Imperial Belvedere Resort
Very Good
A great resort that is suited for families of most ages. Little children are not catered for that much tbh, but toddler age onwards are fully provided for. There are many pools of various sizes, shoes and depths, and purposes for any liking. I would suggest adding a diving board or two, but other than that the variety of pools is great. The food is plentiful and varied. You really cannot stay hungry even if you wanted. There is always a lot of watermelons, nectarines, melons and grapes on offer. The daily meals in the main restaurants have changing menu every day, so you always have something new to try. There is plenty of snacks and sweet bits, ice cream etc. honestly the best food offering I have seen. The hotel has its own mini farm, which was a great hit with the children. The hotel is close to the beach and offers daily shuttles up and down the hill for those who want or need a ride instead of walking. The entertainment team is young and very energetic. There is less for small kids in that sense, but older children and grown ups have plenty of things to do and get busy with. The hotel is clean, well maintained and generally organised well. You can happily spend a week there without leaving the resort. The rooms are newly renovated and very practical. It is not luxury, but a very good 4* standard for family resorts. We had a superior family room and were given a ground floor unit that has access to the outside through the terrace. A brilliant location and very generous room. The ACs work well. There is literally nothing negative we can say about the accommodation.
The pools are salt water. This is not great when it comes to salty water stinging th eyes, especially in the splash pool for kids. The water itself seems like it needs to be either filtered and cleaned better or completely changed. It did seem on the dirty side especially in the kids splash pool. The staff are not very friendly in general. They s em to be fed up with it all. The only happy team I saw were the entertainment team. The a la carte restaurant on site was booked a week upfront, so we missed out on the dinner, but had an opportunity to taste the breakfast menu. The menu was fine with a few ingredients taken from the buffet restaurant. The staff seem nice, but in a fake kind of way. Also they stood in the doorway all the time and watched the guests - not sure it is the right thing to do. The addition of a soft play room would be my biggest advice. There is plenty of room to install one, even if it was for an extra charge. Would have given small children more things to do, as usually soft play areas are a hit with kids in any hotel.
